Mrs. Jane Omojokun holds an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Microbiology. She is an ISO 22000 Certified Lead Auditor (based on FSSC 22000) and a Global G.A.P Licensed Farm Assurer. She was Head of Regulatory Affairs, Food Safety, Codex and the WTO-SPS (World Trade Organization-Sanitary & Phytosanitary) Enquiry Point, at various periods in time between 2004- 2014, at the National Agency for Food & Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). She was instrumental to the production of NAFDAC Regulations and the establishment of the food safety structure in the Agency. She participated in the production of the National Policy on Food Safety & Its Implementation Strategy (NPFSIS) for Nigeria. She was part of the African food safety experts that worked on the Structure and Functions of the African Union Food Safety Management Coordination Mechanism (AU- FSMCM) and also the African Union–InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources’ (AU-IBAR) efforts at improved participation of African countries in the activities of the WTO SPS Committee. She is a consultant to the National Codex Committee (NCC), the General Purposes Sub-Committee of the NCC, farmers and food processing companies and a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Organization for Technology Advancement of Cold Chain in West Africa (OTACCWA) which encourages the use of cold chain technologies to reduce postharvest loss of foods and for maintaining the cold chain for food and pharmaceuticals.
